Wet Sand

Input: Wet Sand
Output: Gold, Residue

Trunk

Toward the right side of the water pool we want to set up two columns of launchers that stick up 2 blocks higher than the top of a 36x72 factory section rectangle. I’m hoping that is enough area for all resource manipulation, but we shall see. The launchers should aim to the left, to the top of what will be the wet sand processing. These main launchers will be the trunk of our factory, moving all resources from underground up to our floating factory.

Wet Sand

Once we have filters, the top of the factory section will allow wet sand only to fall within, for now it will be open. Run a line of shakers going diagonally down to the left, and 5 blocks of belts capping the top right side of the section. The area below will be our gold collector for now. The left side of the section will be 2 more launchers 3 blocks above the shakers for tossing residue into the next section.

Sand

You can set up the beginning of the sand collection at the base of the trunk. I set up a belt one block higher than the high point between the portal and the water pools, running left to right until it hangs over the water pool. I then dig to the low point in the dirt pocket beside the water pool and set up dual launchers a few blocks higher than the belt. At the bottom of the pool I have a row of launchers two blocks high lining the bottom move the wetted sand to the trunk.

Material delivery to trunk

This is the standard way of moving material quickly, a straight line of launchers. Continue to dig out the sand to convert it to gold so you can get filters and unlock tier 2 of your factory. Residue will build up in the next section of the factory, but we can move things around or stop digging dirt, or use foundation to block the flow or material at any time to control things.

The next tech to research is Filter, and use it to block anything except wet sand from falling into the wet sand section.
